On our first visit to Kenya in 1987 we met Pastor Daniel Osoi - a Maasai man with a heart for the discarded children of his area. He had begun accommodating just a few in the Church building and over the years this has expanded enormously.
Daniel now cares for a total of 360 children attending the Nairataat Primary School and others now attending High School. He finds the children on the streets of Emali town - a trucking stop on the road from Nairobi to Mombasa. Most of the children have begun sniffing glue and smoking as they loiter hoping for hand-outs from passersby.
Many of the children would have lived in traditional Maasai huts before they were orphaned - usually because of AIDs.
The children of Taretuoki are encouraged to retain their culture and trained in dance by the older women.

Sponsorship of the Taretuoki children is just A$10 per month
